Ola cabs have launched a real-time monitoring system called “Guardian” to ensure the safety of its customers. This is launched by Ola on Monday to the IT hubs of India, namely Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune. Ola’s project “Guardian” is a part of Street Safe, Ola’s national safety programme.
The project is all about a monitoring of rides taken in real time. Under the project, all trips will be tracked by analysing ride indicators such as route deviations and unexpected stops. Based on the indicators and time to travel, safety triggers will be created. Ola’s Safety Response Team will attend to them, connecting with the customer to assess a potential unsafe ride and provide assistance. The company has integrated real-time data into the project and is also working with government authorities to map dark spots and unsafe routes onto the platform.
Ankur Agarwal, Vice president said that “We believe in leveraging technology to improve the overall safety of rides across the transportations industry. The Guardian project is a major step in this direction, which accelerates Ola’s efforts in holistically making roads and rides safer and build confidence amongst customers and driver partners to feel safe on the platform” also added that “Ola will continue to innovate and use AI and machine learning algorithms to further enhance the Guardian project as the project is rolled out nationally. We are certain that these moves will have a measurable impact in galvanising India’s mobility ecosystem and providing our customers with an enhanced ride-sharing experience”
